Wordless (kinda) Wednesday - Kiddo 4th of July

I hope you had as much fun as I did this past 4th of July (even if you don't celebrate - your day still could have rocked - and I hope it did).  Feel free to participate in the Wordless Wednesday Linky - even if it's not too wordless.

This week's photo is just one out of many taken this past 4th of July.  Yep, I'm spoiled 'cause my friends and family have the cutest kids!

Happy 4th of July - Too Adorable!

I wasn't going to do a full post...but after a couple hours editing...I can't help but share a few more 4th of July pictures.  ;)

This little one is adorable hanging out on the blanket...

Let's just hope the boys never figure it out.  ;)

Lesson 1: Pay attention to background details...Having a tree directly behind your little one can make it look like something is growing out of your little one's head.

Lesson 2: If you have a less than desirable background adjust your aperture to keep your primary focus on the little one.

Lesson 3: Don't forget to get mom in some of the pictures. Mom is a key member of the family who can be so busy taking care of everyone that she ends up missing in albums.  Consider having a play time break.  Advantage of taking the shots during playtime is you have the perfect excuse for a quick refresh.

Happy 4th!

Happy Fourth of July!!!

Wordless Wednesday - Creatures

Last set of firework pictures....(I know I already had two posts: Cosmic & Long's Park Fireworks).
Upon seeing these my husband told me he thinks they look like creatures from the deep.  I don't know about that...but it does give me an excuse to post them...

Long's Park Fireworks

A live band, cannons blasting, followed by a twenty minute display of fireworks…really…how can you beat that?  I should have known it would be a “told you so” moment.  For years, my husband’s buddy has been telling everyone, “You need to see the fireworks at Long’s Park!”.  Well, he was right.

Some fireworks touched the colors of the rainbow …

Some rained gold…

Some burst like rays of sun…

Fireworks - Burst of Light

Some blossmed like flowers…

and some sparkled with electricity...

all were dazzling...

I can't wait to go back next year.

(Not sick of fireworks yet?  More firework pictures (my three fav) were featured in this past week's Wordless Wednesday - Cosmic.  Also, unless something else interesting thing happens over the next week or so...you can expect a few more fireworks in the upcoming week's Wordless Wednesday.)

Lesson 1: If you don’t know all the setting for you camera yet, switch your setting to Shutter priority (Tv) as you can set your shutter speed and let your camera adjust the aperture for you.
Lesson 2: 1”3 works as a good setting to put the shutter speed at (that what   these fireworks were captured at).
Lesson 3: If the fireworks are being shot all over it helps to follow the little dot that shots off and snap the picture right before you think it’ll burst (that way the shutter will be open as the firework blooms.
