Wordless Wednesday - High ISO = Black & White?

Here’s the situation: no flash + very low light.  Any future suggestions?

  2. They look great, but a little 'noisey' if you know what I mean... What editing program do you use? I use Adobe Lightroom, and it handles the noise reduction quite well. Also, what camera are you using, as I know that the Canon 7D has a higher than average noise issue on the 100, 200 and 400 ISO settings, so I avoid them (using 125, 160, 250 and 320 instead).

but seriously, I like them, especially the 'relaxed' nature of the first... Had you not mentioned it, I would not have known!

    1. I use Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 (I know I really need to do the upgrade). After reading your comment I opened up the application noticed noise reduction under filters – hello slap to the forehead. I’ll have to give them a go and see if I can clean up the shots a bit.

To answer your other question: The camera used was a Nikon D7000, the lens was a Nikkor 35mm fixed. The first two shots were taken in a dimly lit moving bus. To keep the picture sharp (or at least in an attempt to) I opted for fast shutter (1/1600) and an ISO of 800. I guess I could have gone lower, but I was a bit worried that I'd end up with a bunch of blurs.
