Wordless Wednesday - Neighbors

Two neighbors sitting down for a quick bite to eat.  Anyone have an idea what kind of birds these are?  I'm a bit new to bird watching.  My current guess is that that blue guy is white-breasted nuthatch male and the red guy is house finch.  What do you think?

Wordless Wednesday - Balloon Spotlight

Last Friday I had pleasure of attending the Chester County Balloon Festival.  Since I'm still way behind on editing, here's a mostly straight from camera (changed camera calibration from Adobe Standard to Camera Landscape) snapshot from the festival.  Hope to have the rest of the pictures done in the next couple weeks. Happy WW!

Photo Art Friday - Fire

Whoohoo! PDPA Photo Art Friday is back.  While I'm happy that Bonnie, our wonderful host, had time to herself to work on her amazing pieces of art (many of which she turns into terrific textures and backgrounds) I was really missing the Photo Art Friday challenges!

This week's Challenge?  Dreamy or Ethereal.

My first thought was I should find a cute baby picture ...but then I remembered the crackling fire at the last BBQ.  So, I figured why not. After all, these challenges are all about experimenting within a supportive community.

I give you my piece for this week, Fire:

Dreamy or Etheral Challenge

For this challenge I used:
  • Pdpa Happy Day texture
  • a picture of fire (taken a recent BBQ - those pictures should be edited shortly)
  • Vintage photo frame from Photoshop Elements.
Dreamy or Etheral Challenge Parts

Photo Art FridayOverall I'm happy with the look....although I'm wishing I left a bit more space between the frame and the top and the bottom edges of the piece.  Maybe I'll have to go back and experiment with it a bit more.

If you would like to check out the Photo Art Friday Showcase or take a look at some of the neat (and many free) textures and background there are over at Pixel DustPhoto Art just click the button to the left.

Engagement on the Water

The other week I had the pleasure of meeting up with Jamie and Jen for a couple engagement photos.

Engagement
Jamie had a few ideas for poses. Originally he wanted to throw Jen in the water.
And while it is true that he may have swept Jen off her feet,
she was more than happy to have those feet kept dry.

Beach lovers that they are, they chose to have the pictures taken outside the restaurant where Jamie proposed.

Engagement
Taken at the same table the two were sitting at when Jamie proposed.

To anyone watching Jamie and Jen it would be hard not to notice just how in love these two are.  Similes, kisses, and laughter could be seen and heard throughout the afternoon.

Engagement
These two play off each other wonderfully making for beautiful chemistry.

It was an absolute joy to spend the day at the beach with this lovely couple.  I'm sure if their marriage is anything like their engagement it will be full of treasured moments, laughter filled days, and years overflowing with love.

Engagement

Thank you Jen and Jamie for allowing me the opportunity to capture a few photos during this special time.  May you have a wonderful wedding and even better marriage.

Lesson 1: Keep an eye out for where the ring finger is.  Whenever possible, keep the left hand over the right.
Lesson 2: Watch for body placement.  Moving around you can find a more flattering angle.
Lesson 3: Cloudy skies are wonderful for diffusing sunlight.  A cloudy sky can open up options for taking pictures that you may not have been able to do with direct sunlight.
