Baseball Fan

In honor of the upcoming baseball season (Spring Training is here!) I’ve rooted through some of last season’s pictures. This one is my absolute fav. 

It’s tradition for my family to go to the Reading Phillies at least once (usually more like four or five times) every summer. This pic was taken at the last game of the season we went together to.   And yes, that is my awesome mom!

Lesson 1: At sporting events make sure you’re not blocking people (they get angry).

Lesson 2: The more a person cares about the sport, the more animated the reaction is likely to will be.
Lesson 3: Sitting at the end of a row gives you more room to move around to get the shot.

Happy 30th Birthday!

Many years ago, in a city far away, two college guys met for the first time and decided to become dorm roommates.  Guy A didn’t drink, Guy B did drink.  Long story short:  after very little peer pressure, Guy A participated in a little thing call “Power Hour”, and shortly after Guy A and Guy B became great drinking buddies and lifelong friends.

Well Guy A just turned 30.  He is one of my hubby’s closest friends and a valued addition to our “family”.  I can’t think how stressed my husband would be without him.  This guy right here is one of the good ones:

 

Lesson One: You never know who is going to be important to you later in your life, more pictures now, mean more pictures to look back on about later.

Lesson Two: There is point when people are drinking that they look very relaxed and happy.  It’s doesn’t always last long, so get the picture while you can.

Lesson Three: People don’t have to be looking at you to make a good picture.

6 Months - Holy Cow!

My sister’s little one just recently turned 6 months old.  I can’t believe 6 months has already gone by!  In honor of this I’d like to make note of a few firsts:

Mom, Dad, and Baby’s first family portrait

Lesson 1: Add a baby, and most people are willing to get their pictures taken – some will even ask you to take their picture.

Lesson 2: If you want enough contrast in a black and white photo, make sure you have really good light.

Lesson 3: Babies change constantly. You can take a few pictures each week and the baby will look very different each time.

Lesson 1: Action shots are more fun than stills

Lesson 2: Cats can be expressive with their whole body.

Lesson 3: When a cat is about to pounce it will freeze for a couple seconds, this is a good time to take the shot.
